- Maryam Seyedin,
a young Iranian lady living in Sacramento, California. She is
suffering from Leukemia, has gone under chemo., her last chance is a
bone marrow transplant, despite heart risks caused by previous chemos.
A perfect match has been found, and Mana Foundation members in
Sacramento are helping with the fund raising for her operation.

The Friends of
Maryam Seyedin Committee with the help of news media and many other
human loving individuals were able to raise more than $310,000 for
Maryam's bone marrow transplant. On Sunday November 24, 1996 Maryam left
for Seattle for further testing. Maryam is tentatively scheduled for
chemotrapy and radiation beginning on December 25 and receives injection
of donated marrow on January 2, 1997. Maryam's transplant will be
performed at the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center in Seattle. For

Once again the Committee thanks everyone who participated in this
successful fund-raising campaign. Because of your support the
fund-raising program scheduled on November 8, 1996 ended up to be a
good-by party for Maryam, more than 700 people participated in this
event.
