Mana Foundation's Objective

ARTICLE I. NAME AND OBJECTIVE
- Section 1. The name of this organization is Mana Foundation and called
"Foundation" hereinafter.
- Section 2. The place of business of this organization is in the
State of California. All activities are limited to the geographical
boundary of the State.
- Section 3. The objective of this organization is to provide
services to the family of those who are fighting blood disease and may be
in need of help to publicize and/or assemble people to be tested for bone
marrow donation.
- Section 4. Among the means employed to obtain the objectives shall be :
- Meeting with those who need assistance.
- Setting educational program for families.
- Co-operation with local blood banks, Red Cross, and National Marrow Donor Program (NMDP).
- Stimulation of interests in the community to participate in donor drives and other programs sponsored by the Foundation.
ARTICLE II. MEMBERSHIP
- Section 1. All people are invited to help the Foundation in achieving its goals, membership is not required.
ARTICLE III. DUES
- Section 1. No fees shall be charged from anybody to participate in
the events sponsored by the Foundation. All expenses incurred by the
Foundation would be collected through voluntary donations.
ARTICLE IV. OFFICERS
- Section 1. The affairs of the Foundation shall be managed by its
officers. The officers of this organization shall be a President, Public
Relation, Secretary, and Treasurer with the same order of organizational
hierarchy.
- Section 2. Each individual who can demonstrate to the current
officer his or her ability to fulfill the duties of the office that he/she
is interested in can be the successor for that office.
- Section 3. Officers will invest their time voluntary and will
receive no compensation for their time. Only actual expenses will be
reimbursed from the Foundation funds. Officers would have to provide the
public a copy of annual budget balance.
- Section 4. The term for officers is one year and individuals who
meet all criteria in this article may hold the office as many time as they
wish.
ARTICLE V. MEETINGS
- Section 1. Meetings between the officers will be held at their
discretion. Public meetings shall also be held at the discretion of the
officers and as needed.
ARTICLE VI. AMENDMENTS
- Section 1. The bylaws shall be visited each year in order to make
necessary changes.

We are a group of professionals who known Mana's family for some time,
Our primary goal was to find a marrow match for Mana. We tried to
achieve this by setting up numerous blood drives and encourage people,
specifically Iranians, to become marrow donors.
