Wild Water Rafting -- South/Middle Fork Rivers
Hey gang,
Just an update on the rafting trip. So far we have had ~9 people who have committed to coming on this trip. Several others have expressed interest, but have not committed.
To make sure we have our slots reserved, we need to place our deposit. So, if you're interested in joining us, you need to email myself or Fati by tomorrow (TUESDAY, 5/21). Don't worry about your deposits right now, I just need to see who's in and who's not.
Some folks have asked if they can join in on the first day and come back Sat night. Sure. The cost will be ~$100. With this option you probably would want to go up there Friday afternoon and camp out friday night ($10). They also provide an optional dinner ($15) and breakfast ($10) at that time.

Well, ever since the infamous re-organization (tm) was initiated by
our devoted Chairwoman and CEO, Foroozan, the entertainment/activities
group known as doreh_bazi has been hard at work to come up with a fun
group outing. After weeks of arduous debating, the plan was made for a
RAFTING trip...So, it is my pleasure to announce:
When: June 22-23
Where: South/Middle Fork Rivers (past Sacramento, 2-3 hr drive from bay area)
Who: Doreh members and friends. BUT, we've reserved 'only' 18 slots and
it's first come first serve.
Details: This is a two day white-water rafting trip interspersed with some
day hikes, food breaks, etc. We will need to be there by 9:45 AM
Sat morning, and we'll be done by Sunday, mid-late afternoon. Each
raft fits ~6 people and they provide all safety equipment and rafts,
etc. No prior rafting experience is necessary, but be prepared for
some moderate/fast rapids. For Sunday, we have reserved 10 slots for
the longer and more difficult Middle Fork river, while the rest do
the second section of the South Fork river.
Cost: $200 (includes lodging)
Lodging: Choice between Camping and a simple bed-n-breakfast (price based on double occupancy). The camping is $10 cheaper and dinner is included, but if a tent is needed, there is a $15 rental charge. Hot shower accomodations exist at the campground.
Food: One breakfast, two lunches (and one dinner if you camp) is included in the price.
Interested?: All those interested need to email Fati: fati@popd.ix.netcom.com by Monday, 5/20 to reserve their spot. There is a $60 deposit per acceptance, so once you reserve your slot on the trip with Fati, you're responsible for that $60 if you back out. Also, if you could mention if you prefer camping/bed-n-breakfast and South/Middle fork rivers for the second day, that would be great. ALSO, if you would bring your $60 deposit to this week's doreh that would be GREAT (make checks out to CBOC).
REMEMBER: Deadline for reserving your place is 5/20 and it's first come first served (18 slots available).
