Hi all,

Congratulations! we did it!!

Saturday's mini concert was a great success for doreh. Somehow the Bijan cookies added a great value to it (Thanks Farshid:-)

A few highlights:

• 78 people showed up (2/3 non-doreh members! Looks like we have some room for expansion!)
• We raised about $450- (The cost was about $230)
• We can go ahead and invite our first non-local guest speaker- Yeah!
• I wanted to specially thank Nima Homayoun for taking charge in renting the equipment,working with the Gypsy Tribes group on the sound system, purchasing the groceries, setting up the hall,ushering, selling the tickets, taking picutes, making the tea!! should I go on?:-)
• Also, thanks to Farshad Momeni who spend most of Saturday either behind the closed doors of room 150 :-) or inside the hall helping with just about everything from moving the furniture, to decorating the place, to setting up the tables, to ushering and to even playing a beautiful Zarb in a duet with Ramin (...Any more hidden talent we should know about?!), and finally helping with cleaning the place afterwards! I think these two alone did about 10 people's worth of work.So, thank you one more time on behalf of doreh. In the future, unless we have more bodies to help we can't execute activities of this sort.
• Farid, thanks for the beautiful flowers - sorry I forgot to bring the vase! but maybe it was for the best! It was such a nostalgic moment when the two brothers gave the flowers to Mr. and Mrs.Zoufonoun. Suzi Jan thanks for your help. Those of you who didn't make it to Farid's house afterwards missed a great party and the BBQ chicken in the backyard!
• Thanks to Naser Babol Moradi of "The Gypsy Tribes" musical group for providing us with the sound system, and thanks to Dr. Hafez Morir Zadeh at SJSU for providing the hall.
• Last but not the least, even though Ramin and Amin are not on this alias lets be sure to thank them for doing such a great job. Their music was absolutely beautiful and we appriciate their efforts. Hopefully, doreh will take a lead in promoting any future events they might have.

Thanks to those who stayed afterwards to clean up. The place looked even better than when we got it!

P.S. Mina joon, merci for the nice doreh minutes and lending us the colorful posters,gelim and other things. BTW, did you know that she actually took those pictures herself? Talk to her if you wanna know more! :-) i think you should quit your day time job and sell posters :-)

Doreh welcomes Ramin and Amin Zoufonoun; masters of Iranian traditional music for an evening of joy. They have generousely offered to entertain doreh and friends with their beautiful, enchanting 'hamnavazi' pieces of Piano & Setar, Setar & tar, as well as solo music.

This concert is for you all the doreh members, your friends and families. It is intended to bring people together; it will be a great opportunity to meet everyone in doreh including those we haven't seen in years!! Please make an effort to support this event.

Seating is limited, so try to buy/rerserve tickets in advance. Tickets will go on sale on Thursday at doreh for $10.

Please send email to nima@mipos3.intel.com or farshidk@faslab.com to reserve tickets. Also, to get the better seats (since there are no seat numbers) try to be there before 7:30. Those of you who wish to help us with set up, contact Nima/Farshid/Me. Doreh will provide refreshments.

SJSU music hall is on the corner of 7th & San Carlos in SJ.
Take the 7th street exit from 280 coming form North.
As you exit, keep left (the street curves). go all the way on 7th (pass several lights) Until the last stop sign before the multiple story garage.
Either park in the garage (~$3) or on the street. Music bldg is behind the red-brick recreation center.
