SalAm bar hameye doostAn dorehee;
Here is a summary of what went on at our last gathering. Last Thursday 4/18 Hafez was invited at Ramin's to give us a talk about his recent CD, Navaye Mardom. Also Mehdi Ahmadi, the owner of X.DOT.25, has been invited. He made a great contribution to produce the CD. After a brief introduction by Forouzan, Hafez started talking about the CD and what basically it was all about. "Navaye Mardom translates in to people's blues", said Hafez. It talks about revolution, war, and all the sad events that have been going on to Iranian and Kordish people and all over the world.
The Kordish theme of the first song which was composed of piano and sax was very recognizable. It is worth mentioning that the "PishdarAmad" of the first song was composed by Mahmoud Zolfonon who works for national Orchestra back in Iran. The "PishdarAmad" was then arranged by Ramin. Three titles of the CD carries the name of three famous cities of our country, Tabriz, Tehran, and Mashad. Tehran's first part song is called "Regime". Hafez's inspiration for this part goes back to his trip to Iran at 1989. The second part conveys the discontent that regime disposes. Revolution was the subject of the third part. The music of this part would clearly speak of an unsettlement tone of the life that would lead into revolution.
The fourth and the very last part of the song refers to "Mourning". The aftermath of any war or revolution. The artist pictured dusty red air and a bloody scene that is associated with burring of death bodies. All over the CD Ramin's contribution by playing a wonderful piano was noticible.
Hafez finished his talk by introducing his next CD. The artist's next work will be called "Voices Unvalid" which is about woman's solo voice that has been banned in Iran.
After the break Ramin played an absolutely wonderful piano, a nice ending to April doreh. We all thank Hafez for his talk about his work and Ramin for his warm and pleasant hospitality.
