Here is brief introduction:

Imogen Cunningham started photography in 1901. She is a humanist. Her main work is based on people and plant. She is well known in portrait photoghraphy and focuses on individual's personality to reflect them on her works. One of her photos is called "the three ages of women". In this picture, you will see an old women waiting for the bus, and behind her a young women holding her little daughter. Interesting note about this picture is that is was taken naturally and the theme was not setup. In genenral, a photographer view their surrounding world in a creative manner and photography is a mean to express their creativity."

Next doreh will be on thursday Nov. 18th. Suzan has prepared a nice audio visual presentation on photography. Part of her presentaion covers a slide show. I'll include her original mail below. If you want to volunteer, please send mail to Ramin or Nima. We'll need a good size wall. Any volunteers!?

Also, as some of you know Azita Amirieh one of our active non-internet dorehees is moving to Iran for good. I can't say enough about her thoughtulness, friendliness, and awareness. She's been a good friend and has contibuted alot to doreh. Azita gave me the best gift; 2 boxes full of books and magazines! I would like to keep them so that they can be used in doreh. There are also several "Elm'o JAme'e" magazines. I'd like at least 3 people including myself to review them (perhaps few copies per person). We can then make copies of interesting articles for distribution to the rest of the group. So, let me know if you like to review them. I will give the list of books to Sayeh and she or myself can make hard copies for everyone.

This week's doreh will be held at Jalil's house in Mountain view. As a reminder Suzan will talk about the history of photography and introduces a famous American photographer Imogen Cunningham. There will be a slide show as well. Please try to be there by 7:30 on Thursday.
